Description: Estate’s Interest In a 40″ W x 59″ L, Framed, acrylic on canvas Carole LaRoche painting entitled ‘Nativity’. Known for her work with bright pastels, large colorful objects and animals, LaRoche is one of the best known artists of the Southwest, and Santa Fe. The painting and frame are in very good condition. The painting is recessed under glass inside the oversize frame. The artwork is matted, and floating, with a distance of approximately 4″ from the art, to the interior of the frame. The existing external frame measurements are 46″ x 67″. Hand signed lower right corner and dated 1991.

In colors of white, pale pink, light yellow, and dark and light blue, LaRoche creates an intriguing scene of the Nativity. And then there are the wolves for which LaRoche is famous. Simply drawn in bright pastels that pop out, the animals have glowing luminous eyes that stare out at viewers. Causing some to squirm and others to feel a sense of connection, they connect to the viewer and especially with animal lovers. Simply composed and with a strong mystical quality, LaRoche art reflects New Age spiritualism.
This artwork was prominently displayed for many years inside a landmark restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona on Main Street in the Old Town Scottsdale in the Art Gallery District.

Description: Estate’s Interest in a lithograph created by Mr Fred Machetanz entitled ‘The Tender Arctic’. The lithograph is a color depiction of the gentle nature of polar bears in the Arctic depicting a polar bear with her cub. It is signed and numbered, Limited Edition (682 out of 950). The image size is 32.75″ by 19.5″. It has shades of blue and pale yellow in the artwork. The artwork beautifully depicts wildlife of the North Alaska area. It is not matted or framed.

Mr Machetanz is a well known and acclaimed artist who painted the romantic period of Alaska’s history to continue the traditional Alaskan frontier image into the present day 21st Century. He died in 2002 at the age of 94 and is remembered as a great fine arts painter and a great art historian celebrating the history of Alaska.

His paintings and lithographs have entered public and private collections throughout the country and are much in demand, with a waiting list even for color reproductions of his work. He was named Alaskan of the Year in 1977, and American Artist of the Year in 1981 by American Artist magazine.
