<p><strong>Description: </strong>Estate&#8217;s Interest in a lithograph created by Mr Fred Machetanz entitled &#8216;The Tender Arctic&#8217;.   The lithograph is a color depiction of the gentle nature of polar bears in the Arctic depicting a polar bear with her cub.  It is signed and numbered, Limited Edition (682 out of 950).  The image size is 32.75&#8243; by 19.5&#8243;.   It has shades of blue and pale yellow in the artwork.  The artwork beautifully depicts wildlife of the North Alaska area. It is not matted or framed. </p>
<p>Mr Machetanz is a well known and acclaimed artist who painted the romantic period of Alaska&#8217;s history to continue the traditional Alaskan frontier image into the present day 21st Century.   He died in 2002 at the age of 94 and is remembered as a great fine arts painter and a great art historian celebrating the history of Alaska. </p>
<p>His paintings and lithographs have entered public and private collections throughout the country and are much in demand, with a waiting list even for color reproductions of his work. He was named Alaskan of the Year in 1977, and American Artist of the Year in 1981 by American Artist magazine.</p>
